There is a lot of different 'Flight Planners' on the market - some costing hundreds of dollars and a yearly subscription!
Here at Recreational Pilots, we have trialled a fantastic flight planner that is so simple & accurate, anyone can use it with great results - even if you do not have too much computer experience. This flight planner is perfect for RAAus members and recreational flying in general.
Best of all this software is available FREE OF CHARGE!! Not even a sign up is required nor do you have to give away your private information...
The name of this Flight Planner is AUSNAV - created by Terry Mann. Terry is a fellow RAAus member and also has a PPL.
Terry allows anyone to use this amazing tool FREE!
"AUSNAV is a preflight planning tool, that allows you to select from over 1500 Australian airfields and the complete list of waypoints from the ERSA. It will calculate the distance, initial magnetic heading, ground speed and ETI by just selecting your waypoints/airfields from the drop down list and entering TAS and Wind speed and direction.. Your selected flight route is plotted on an outline of the Australian continent. Use it to check your whizwheel calcs, or plan that great out back trip......before you even get the maps! There is also now the ability to enter user defined fields/waypoints (190kb)."
To download your own FREE AUSNAV program, thanks to Terry Mann, visit Straight and Level Downunder (a safe & trusted site) and click on the AUSNAV download - you can access it by clicking below:
